How we write.
Yesterly is calm before it is anything else. Our copy is short, specific, and a little older than the moment. This page is what our team works from, and what we send to anyone writing in our name.
Tone
Quiet, certain, never breathless. The product is small on purpose, and the writing should match. We do not exclaim. We do not promise transformation. We describe.
Sentence shape
Short and concrete. One specific detail beats three abstractions. We prefer the song that was at number one to "the music of the time." We prefer Wednesday May 3, 2006 to "your past."
What we never say
Optimise. Hack. Unlock. Journey. Dive in. Game-changer. AI-powered. We do not call our users "users." We do not call months "your June." We do not invite anyone to a community.
What we lean on
Specific objects. A song, a headline, a loaf of bread. Specific dates. Specific weather. A handful of words we keep coming back to: quietly, small, once.
